We call it the ‘whirley-gig’. Isn’t it a thing of wonder?
This was our solution to a clients request for Matrix ‘Bullet-time’ effects in one of their shows. The goal was to create a sequence where time seems to stop as the camera whips around the actor in a 360 degree motion without needing 200 separate cameras in a rack. It took a few dry runs but we eventually got our shots. I‘m pretty sure there’s a child somewhere who’s wondering where the wheels to her bike went!
