Working once more with the team at 72 Films, we were tasked with designing and creating an extensive graphics kit including the title card, date rollers, background extensions and treatment of never before seen archival photos, and country wide maps for this immersive documentary which brings history to life through vividly restored archival footage and firsthand accounts of WWII Britain during the Blitz.
We explored many different approaches, some of which did not make the final film including 2.5D treatment of the archival stills and a immersive CG build of London during 1940 which was initially rendered in greyscale and we then colourised in order to match the colourised archival footage that makes up the film.
