‘Lockerbie’ is a four-part documentary series that investigates the events surrounding the 1988 Lockerbie airplane bombing. The series focuses on the investigation into the crash — which crossed over both sides of the Atlantic — and the devastating effect it had on the small Scottish town of Lockerbie and on the families who lost loved ones.

When Mindhouse approached us about creating the title sequence and in-show graphics for ‘Lockerbie’, the headline note was to find a way to respect the subject matter whilst providing visuals that felt stylish and crafted. We used a tactile design approach to evoke this era of paper ordnance survey maps, photocopies, and hand written notes, and to give the photographs and documents featured in the case a physical presence.
